Why doesn't Cache Killer delete cookies?

Cache Killer doesn't delete cookies because, as we've said, cookies are good for most users. If you do not want cookies, you get configure your browser to disallow them. Even better, most browsers have an option that will prompt you whenever a site wants to create a cookie. You then have an opportunity to either accept or reject it.

How can I delete Navigator/Communicator cookies?

If you want to delete specific cookies in Netscape, you have to edit the MagicCookie file. This file is usually stored in one of the following locations:

  • System Folder:Preferences:Netscape:MegicCookie
  • System Folder:Preferences:Netscape Users:User Name:MagicCookie

Open this file with a text editor like BBEdit and you will see each cookie listed on its own line. The beginning of the line indicates what site created and owns the cookie. You can safely delete lines to remove particular cookies.

How can I delete Internet Explorer cookies?

Internet Explorer makes it considerably easier to delete cookies. All cookies are viewable via the Preferences dialog box. Simply select a cookie and click a button to remove it.
